Location & area

Deloraine is a village of approximately 2000 people in the beautiful Meander Valley. The town has many heritage listed buildings, a supermarket, a country butcher shop, book shops, coffee shops, restaurants, second-hand shops and a Farmers' Market once a fortnight.
The Meander valley is home to many artists and other crafts people. Nearby are the villages of Chudleigh with its sanctuary for Tasmanian Devils and Spotted Quolls, Mole Creek with its caves, Red Hills with boutique gourmet food, Elizabeth Town with cheeses. Launceston, Devonport and Cradle Mountain are within easy driving distance. Let's face it. Nowhere is very far from anywhere in Tasmania.
Northern Tasmania can be reached by ferry to Devonport or by plane to Launceston or Devonport. Once you are on the island, take the Bass Highway from Launceston to Devonport (or vice versa), and watch for the exit signs to Deloraine about half an hour into the journey.
