Turuk is off the beaten track, 30 minutes drive from Malli Bazaar - the gateway to Sikkim. Malli is two-and-a-half hours’ drive from Siliguri or Gangtok. Turuk has friendly mild climate throughout the year.

At daybreak you will be pleasantly nudged from your slumber and in no time may end up wide awake playing hide and seek with kokkolay (Grey Treepie) crowing to his glory, showing off his plumage, feasting on the aromatic pods of camphor tree that grows on the lawn.
