THE ANCESTRAL OLD PORTUGUESE HOUSE
The House belonging to the Fernandes family for over 4 centuries is located in the village of Canacona Goa. This house is of special interest as it consists of a great cultural interest belonging to the Hindus and the Roman catholics .

On approaching the house one can breath in the panoramic view of the lush greenery in the paddy fields, backed by the gentle hills and the coconut trees that line the borders of the fields on one side. Tranquil experience of the village life!

Being the only of it’s kind and away from the hustle of hectic places, yet quite close to the main places of interest, the Inn offers its visitors a different kind of holiday more closely acquainted with the local community and culture.

The rooms have an exquisite charm of their own the antique four-poster beds, antique furniture, TV, video, DVD player, Internet facility etc.

Each room has an attached bathroom and toilet. The rooms are provided with it’s independent Kitchen, fully equipped with microven,cooking range, fridge, toaster, water boiler, hot and cold water facility, round the clock.

The old heritage house was built in 1615. This house has an extreme historic importance as it has maintained it’s originality till date.The inner looks o0f the house had been changed over the past few years to accommodate the modern living standards.

The Portuguese architecture and the Indo-Portuguese culture , gave Goa in all it’s aspects, right from the construction to its environment and people a characteristic way of living. To add to all this the culture has it’s distinct identity, even in the culinary and very especially in the unbeatable desserts and confectionery.
The guests and visitors of the house have found it charming and relaxing.

The famous beaches of south Goa, Palolem beach, Patnem-Collem Beach, Rajbag beach, Talpona river, Galgibag beach, Agonda Beach, surround the village and the famous wild life sanctuary called Cotigao wild life sanctuary. One can get the sight of the village traditional potter, traditional cashew and coconut distilleries, and the tribal village with its festival moods and dancing. One can enjoy the water sports, bird watching, mountain climbing, fishing, and also enjoy the beach sun and sand filled with it’s palm trees & golden sand beaches.
