Overview

The modern house has an open plan design flowing onto an outside entertainment Lapa where true South African breakfasts are served around a communal dining table. Dinners or traditional Braai’s (Barbeque’s) can be arranged on request, but the town of St. Lucia boasts with a variety of restaurants, all in walking distance from the guesthouse. The elegantly furnished en suite air-conditioned rooms are equipped with all the necessary amenities to ensure a luxury stay. The family rooms sleep 4 people each with full bathrooms, showers and corner baths. All our non-smoking rooms open into the garden area leading to a sparkling swimming pool; they’re to refresh you after an enjoyable day exploring the Wilds of Africa.

The Rhino Coast Guesthouse lies a stone throw away from the St. Lucia Nature Reserve, which forms an integral part of South Africa’s first National World Heritage Site. The town is known as the Gateway to iSimangaliso, the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park which offers pristine beaches, whale watching, turtle tours, prolific bird life, snorkelling, game-viewing, fishing, walking trails, cycling, night safari, sunset safari, horse riding, Zulu cultural tours and boat cruises on the 85 km Estuarine lake, filled with an estimated 1300 hippo’s and several thousand crocodiles. St. Lucia is also in close proximity of the Hluhluwe – Imfolozi Game Reserve to view the Big 5.

You will be traveling on the N2 either from Durban (South Side) or Pongola, Mkuze & Hluhluwe (North Side). Turn off the high way at MTUBATUBA which is still 27 km from St. Lucia. Take the R618 from Mtubatuba to ST. LUCIA . On arriving in St. Lucia, you would cross the bridge over the St. Lucia Estuary and reach a 3 way yield sign. Turn left & immediately right into BEACH ROAD. Take the first (1) street right, PELIKAAN STREET, the first (1) house on your LEFT is RHINO COAST HOUSE, you have reached your destination - safe traveling!

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:

  • It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
