Overview

Bancroft offers 2 extremely comfortable, spacious, clean luxury B & B suites, with DSTV, wireless internet, a hospitality fridge, tea and coffee facilities, fans and heaters. The Family suite has 2 bedrooms, the Master Bedroom with a King size bed and the other with twin beds, and Double Suite has twin beds. Fax facilities are also available.
We serve a hearty English Breakfast or a Health Breakfast and endeavour to cater for special needs and preferences.
Close to private schools like St. Annes and Hilton College ,10 minutes from the Centre of Pietermaritzburg and at the start of the Midlands Meander we are conveniently situated near all the main routes, and being on the R103, we are very easy to find.
Oribi airport is 15kms away and Durban is about an hours drive. Not to be missed - The Royal Agricultural Showgrounds are just 5 minutes drive away.
Bancroft is on the doorstep of Worlds View which is a riding hotspot for Down Hill and Off Road Bikers and the surrounding counrtyside offers some of the most wonderful Off Road Dirt Bike terrain you can find anywhere. Major sporting events like the Comrades Marathon, The Midmar Mile, Hill to Hill and the Amashova Bike Race all happen here! We enjoy the beauty of the Natal Midlands,and one can just potter around the Midlands Meander,indulge in some Trout fishing, or for the bold at heart try the Tree Top Canopy tour and glide through the trees! Central to the Drakensberg Mountains, and the Indian Ocean, we have a cooler climate than Pietermaritburg itself being high up in the surrounding hills, and with out famous Hilton mist and our precious rain, we are lucky enough to have lovely green gardens! The Open Gardens weekend at the beginning of Spring is quiet inspirational and friends are always willing to give snippets and cutting to start off new gardens!!
"Art In The Park" and "Cars In The Park" are also wonderful events and are a must in anyones calender!

Location & area

Bancroft is no 247 Old Howick Road in Hilton a suburb of Pietermaritzburg in Kwazulu-Natal. Old Howick Road is also the R103 on the maps. If you are coming from Johannesburg on the N3, take the Cedara off ramp and turn right back over the freeway into Hilton. Go through the traffic lights at Crossways and the travel 1.6km and we are on the right.
If you are coming on the N3 freeway from Durban take the Hilton off ramp and then turn left into Hilton ave. Carry on through the first traffic lights and at the next set of traffic lights (by Crossways) turn left into Old Howick Road and travel down 1.6km and you will find us on the right.
