Take R24 towards Johannesburg, the N12 will join from left, continue and at next major interchange (No.113 Gillooly's interchange) carefully follow route to N3 (N1) North, DO NOT turn-off N1 North or follow signs to Jhb or Pretoria until exit No 90 - Hans Strydom Drive. Turn left at top of off ramp. Continue until after MacDonalds and Wimpy you reach Republic - turn left and at 2nd traffic lights left again into Pine Ave. Ferndale Lodge is No.271 - half way along block on right. On a good traffic day this trip will take 35 minutes. If from Durban, as above from Gillooly's.
We are close to all the main business and entertainment hubs - Sandton - Randburg - Cresta - Monte Casino - The Dome - Brightwater Commons (Old waterfront).
There are restaurants, take aways, Pick and Pay, Clicks, Mr Price and Home all within walking distance. Plus a Mr Delivery service to the door.

It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
