Overview

Our spacious, modern holiday home is set in a stunning location within a prestigious residential wine estate in the heart of the Franschhoek valley, surrounded by mountains. We are not the only ones to think we have one of the best views on the estate! Our house is our second home and it is comprehensively furnished and equipped to a high standard in a contemporary style. The garden has been landscaped with many indigenous 'water-wise' plants giving a colourful display. The community has 24 hour security and there is a shared pool and tennis court. The estate is a short distance (walkable) from the centre of the village with all its local amenities and superb restaurants. Franschhoek's wine estates are easily accessible for tastings and/or the restaurant facilities.

Location & area

Franschhoek is a little gem, tucked away in a horseshoe valley, surrounded by stunning mountain ranges with activities catering for all tastes. The physically active can walk or ride in the unspoilt countryside, hike on the mountain ranges, play golf on excellent courses nearby or try their hand at trout fishing on local rivers. For the more sybaritic, the boutiques, galleries, restaurants or wine estates of Franschhoek, Paarl or Stellenbosch beckon. Cape Town with its majestic Table Mountain is just 45 minutes away, safe bathing beaches are less than an hour away. Alternatively, take advantage of the friendly welcome in any one of the 20 local vineyards and be tempted to taste some stunning and international award-winning wines or treat yourself at one of Franschhoek's renowned restaurants. Stellenbosh and Paarl are also very near or you may want to try whale-watching at Hermanus, less than 2 hours away over the breathtaking Franschhoek Pass. The choice is yours.

Our holiday home is newly furnished in a comfortable, modern style. The spacious living area has double doors leading to the patio with its stunning view across the vineyard to the mountains. The open plan kitchen area has a breakfast bar with 4 four stools and there is a separate dining room. The main bedroom (king size bed) has a full en-suite bathroom. The second double room (queen size bed) and the twin room share the shower room. Enthusiastic cooks will find the kitchen extremely well equipped. However with such an abundance of excellent restaurants in Franschhoek, not to mention Paarl, Stellenbosch or the wine estates, dining-in may not be your choice. Alternatively, there is a portable barbecue for an alfresco meal outside or you can relax with an evening 'sundowner' on the terrace, perhaps to watch Franschhoek's own 'tablecloth' gently fall over the mountains. The residential community is covered by 24 hour security services.
