Overview

We're not about the Africa of luxury safaris, nor hotel imprisomnment. We offer you the freedom of real, normal, day to day Africa. A very friendly, traditional, welcoming, comfortable, house; like many others in the neighbourhood. Suitable for children.
With strong eco-tourism principles; we can supply excellent vegetarian food (usually very difficult to find in West Africa)! We can also provide the best tutors to help you master musical instruments and African drums / dance.
We are very close to a safe, clean, almost empty beach. By living within the community, rather than in an hotel, you will gain real insights into the local culture. Expect invites to local weddings and naming ceremonies,etc..

Location & area

We are within 10 minutes walk of anything you might reasonably want. Like the beach, bars, clubs, supermarket, doctors, dentist, hardware store, botanical gardens, bird watching, places of cultural and historical interest etc.

The climate is sub tropical and throughout the year, on average, each day is dry, sunny & around 28 Celsius.

We are on the edge of town, so it's very easy to walk out into the local countryside, or to the beach. It is safe to walk alone at night and being away from the tourist areas, we don't suffer the hassle that hotel dwellers have to put up with.

Amenities & services

We are a humble guest house, devoid of all the stuffy, pretension found at hotels. Warm & friendly; you need never feel alone or that you don't fit in. We offer you an experience of this country more as a 'visiting relative' than as a tourist. The rooms all have a double bed & mosquito nets, even with single occupancy. Windows also have mosquito nets, doors & windows have curtains. Each room has it's own shower area & wardrobe & face on to the garden.
We also have 2 small apartments for families or groups. Each room has its own padlock.
We are a small, happy place with excellent relations with our neighbours. Full occupancy can cater for 15 people, including the apartments. We have 2 shared toilets for 4 double rooms & 1 in each of 2 apartments.
There are corner shops very close by, where many diverse things can easily be obtained. Bikes can be hired loclly. Local taxis are very cheap & abundant.
