Overview
Porto Antigo is a new and exclusive beach front complex widely acknowledged as the most prestigious location on the island of Sal. Apartment 9 allows access to the beach in a few steps and also enjoys uninterrupted views of the sea and historic harbour from its living room, large patio area and sun roof. There is a large shared swimming pool 20 metres to the left of the patio area. The beach area enclosed by the old harbour wall is sheltered and ideal for smaller children. Patio furniture and sun loungers are supplied and the development including the pool and harbour are beautifully lit at night. The apartment has the benefit of being fully fitted with new furniture of a high standard. Additionally all local amenities are accessible only a short walk away (3 minutes). It also have the benefit of a new aircon system installed September 2008 and was also completely redecorated at this time.

Bedroom 2 with twin beds.
Sofa bed in sitting room.
Bathrooms: Modern bathroom with walk in shower, wash basin with vanity unit, WC and bidet.
Kitchen: Open plan kitchen with 4 ring electric hob, good size fridge freezer, new crockery and cooking utensils, electric kettle and toaster.
Living Rooms: Spacious open plan living room with double sofa bed, table and chairs, TV, DVD player, air conditioning, sea views, giving direct access to patio beach and harbour areas.
Other: The sun terrace is situated on the roof of the property and is accessed by an external stairway from the patio.
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service: Bedlinen is included. Rubbish is collected daily. A wall safe is provided and the development has the benefit of a private security service. Please bring own towels
Notes on accommodation
In addition to a new aircon system the apartment also has the benefit of three free standing electric fans.
Porto Antigo is the best development on Sal in our opinion, but even here, only a few apartments are situated directly onto the beach, and ours is one of them.

Scuba diving instruction at all levels can be arranged with a fully qualified UK diving instructor.

Sal International Airport is a cheap 20 minute taxi ride away from door to door, with no problem of availability.
Distances
Santa Maria town centre is with 3 minutes walk, and 2 of the best local restaurants within less than 5 minutes. Porto Antigos own bar/restaurant is only 30 metres on the far harbour wall.
Further details
Sal is a water sports paradise for surfers, wind surfers, kite surfers, divers and fishermen, not to mention sun worshippers. In the event of any problems arising during the rental period these will either be dealt with by the owner in person or in the alternative by an English speaking representative.
Booking notes
To book simply phone and pay a deposit of 25% of total rental cost by cheque, with balance due 60 days before start of rental period.

Important Notice : Avoiding Fraud
It's rare, but some helpful hints to watch out for with regards to fraud:
- It is important to NEVER wire funds or use/employ other fund transfer mechanisms such as western union: Always use a credit card to protect yourself against fraud. If owners pressure you into providing a deposit or refuse to accept credit cards, there is a high probability that this is a scam.
- If at all suspicious of fraud, ask to see their website, or any other literature they can provide or send to you. Ask them for contact details for guests who have previously stayed on their property insisting on telephone numbers. Be suspicious of emails that originate from free email services (yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc)
- Research the property thoroughly on the internet to see if there is any history or mention of scams associated with the property.
